"sensitive" in that they either don't adapt well to your tank, or adapt for a period, then start dropping off like flies.

nice rams! where's a good place to get rams?
    ----------------
I got them from Toh Farm (no. 16, just next Teo Plant Farm). I lost some of them when they couldn't adjust to the tank conditions initially.
Looks like the luminous blue is getting on everyone's nerves as well.
Actually I find the layout lacking in some focus somewhat. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Or should I say too organised. Feels like National Day in Padang, each species like a contingent or platoon, too uniform.

    KF,

Hope you don't mind my critique... it's meant to be constructive.

I think the red lotus and the red plant (R. macandra?) behind the Blyxa are competing for the focus. I look at your pic and my attention is divided. The shape and pinkish red of the stem plant will bring out the large and dark red leaves of the lotus very nicely. You could create a focus by putting the stem plant behind the lotus. This grouping should be at about the one third point of the tank length.

I think the tank is divided by the blyxa and the red stemmed plant almost dead center. The blyxa cuts the foreground in half while the pink plant cuts the background.

The distinct patches of foreground plants also divide up the composition. Maybe it's because the plants haven't grown in yet.

The tall plants in this tank seem quite evenly laid out, whereas in your old tank, you had tall plants coming up to the front at the sides which frames up your tank nicely.

The drift wood isn't doing it's job. It can either be a focus or be used to direct attention to the focus of the tank.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

Jason, this photo was taken slightly earlier. The crypts are added on the existing ones on left hand foreground. They did not melt so far. Thanks very much!

Vinz and all: Really appreciate your suggestions. I will see how the plants grow and them do some adjustments. WIll keep you all updated.

    Tank update in Jan-2003.

The R.indica has overgrown. Hygrophilas on the right side not doing well. Even the E.quadricostatus is melting in some areas. APP also melted and I tried salvaging it. I don't have much time to maintain this tank.

    Crypts from Jason. Doing well.

Nice setup, just saw a batch of Sphaerichthys oshromenoides from TB LFS-Ben. I think with the tint of brown and gold stripes of the fish will give NF jungle tank a wild and exotic look. But some ppl say this fish is hard to maintain.

Maybe Juggler shld consider this fish for ur stage. If I got a new setup, I definately will grap all from ben.

Don't bother if its Black cats or White cats, so long as it can catch Rats. Its a Good Cat.

    Juggler,

Did you take those pictures with flash on? They looked very clear.

I am also using a blue background but I don't take pictures with the flash on. So I don't see any blue background at all..

a cheaper alternative would be removing the existing back ground and spraying black? Just kidding

Looks like I better change the blue background.

Simon: Everytime the EQ tries to invade the APP, I stop them. But it has spread to the back of the tank. The EQ is not doing well currently -- some leaves melting.

Jason: Nice to see your Crypts growing nicely? The Blyxa seem to do better using this JBL substrate.

Ninjafly: No flash. Hand held with all the tank lights on. Of course do a little "sharpening" in Adobe Photoshop.

Thanks for all encouragement. I still have plans to do some minor rescaping. See have time or not.
