Was at Colourful Aquarium) yesterday evening and happenned to see a packet of Platinum Cardinal Tetras. Extremely rare fish and not seen locally for a long time. Last time was available at Gan's many years back.
Bought 10 and there are about 30 left.

    Hi Bro Torque,

Beauty is always very personal and subjective and "in the eyes of the
    beholder".

The difference with a Platinum and a normal is the top part of the body. For the normal or common Cardinal, this part (after the red and blue bands) does not have any colour at all. For the Platinum, this part is
silvery resulting in its common trade name. This should give you some idea of how a Platinum looks like. The good thing is that Platinums are totally natural and rare (1 in 10000 or something like that). The silvery colour is bacterial in nature but does not harm the fish. This is the same for the gold colouration on the Gold Tetra (Hemigrammus rodwayi).

    Just sharing what I know.

Oh, i didnt know the coloration is bacterial in nature, I have read several articles on the gold tetra previously. Their skin from what i know protects the fish from bacterial infection.
