Can I keep plants in slightly higher temperature (around 29 to 30 degree) ? does it cause an increase in algae outbreaks ?

    they are under MH light

so if algae appears on them, i assume it is fertilizer + co2 problem ?

Temperature has nothing to do with algae breaks.

ok. thanks! I did a WC (20% of 1100litres), and added bacteria, water conditioner. only thing lacking in that tank is CO2. it is primarily for my Tiger Barbs and Sharks, the moss are for decoration and hiding.

If the moss you have is java moss, then it should be ok. Demanding moss like Christmas and us fissiden are not likely to do well under 29-30C.

Flame moss you mean? I have one smalll DW with flame moss under a constant temperature of 27C. Growth is ok but in my old setup using taiwan moss, growth is much better.

haaa... sorry, u are right, it is called the flame moss. I think worst case, I will just do the farming in my 2ft, and transfer full grown branches to my 6ft (the one with MH and no chiller)

I dun think I want to chill my 6ft again. it cost a bomb and whole lots of other problems with ventaliation

Taiwan moss is crazy....grows very fast and messy....
Flame moss will twist when water is cold.

6FT tanks, best to use chillers, since your in a range of tank size where you get to enjoy aquarium products designed for you. Nano tanks owners on the other hand do not have this form of priviledge.

    Larlee,
Fans from color master are only around 12db, i have 4 of them 12cm in my pc and it doesnt emit audible sound, much less if used for an aquarium. Dont get those ISTA or tw brand fans, since they will definitely be noisy and cannot adjust CFM.
