Read an American site where one setup uses live rocks only.

I am thinking of doing live rock + external filter box (hanging-type). No corals. A few marine creatures.

    Any comments or suggestions welcome.

Sounds quite like a FOWLR setup.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.

    Just setup

Bot some stuff from Ah Peh from L95 at Seletar FW2 incl seawater ($2).

Got 1 button coral ($10); 1 free live rock.

Add coralsand onto my 1.5 ft setup (39cmx30cmx30cm). Blue 18W lighting. External Eheim Liberty filter. Add Biohome.

    Stock with 1 wrasse & 1 yellow butterfly & 1 Chomis.

    And that's it.

No chiller & no pro skimmer.

Do u think my steup can take more corals & livestock?

bro, skimmer is kinda basic equipment needed for marine tank, you may want to consider getting one.

Use to have 1 Red Sea but it 'knonk' out pretty fast.

Which is the best value for $ now?
