I just signed up and just want to say hi. Anyway, I stumbled on this site googling "anubia" , didn't realize most you guys are in Singapore. I really admire the civility of this site . Btw, I google "liao" but still not sure the meaning, when do you use it? Thks.
P.s. I was in Singapore in 1981 for 1 week and love it, the weather, the people, cleanliness, food, etc...

What's a-half-of-the-world away for the internet?
"liao" is translated literally as "finished".
Personally, when I use "Singlish", I indicate the words with a short lietral translation so folks like you can understand the context of the word/s.
But you can always give a holler in the "Members's Lounge".
I'm sure there will be no shortage of help for you!
