    Hi

I bought some cabombas a few days ago. It has since grown twice it's height. Please suggest ways to slow it's growth. Very painful to trim it every few days.

    hi little bear

i guess what you can do is when you are going to replant them, keep the trimmings shorter to perhaps 5 to 6 nodes(2 nodes in the substrate). reduce your CO2 and/or liquid fertilisation by half...however you may be taking a risk that it may go the other way.

does the amount of light play a part?
read somewhere that some plants 'try' to reach for light, is that true?

btw, do you keep trimming and replanting fast growing plants?

for cabomba it doesn't make a difference
all that increasing the light will do is shorten the internodal distance
as for controlling the growth of cabomba
    i don't think so
if you want to keep this plant, you'll have to snip and trim every so often

Agree wif DEA, for this plant you have no choice but to snip it constantly. It's juz it's chracteristics. if you think ot's too much trouble, then juz give it up and replace it with a lower growth plant.
    Cheers!!
