Quixotic, did you see whether they had new stock for the Apistos?
I think I saw the butterfly loach and Bedotia species when I last dropped by at Polyart a few days ago.

Polyart:
Chinese Butterfly Loach (I am not sure but I think it's Pseudogastromyzon spp.)
Madagascar rainbowfish (Bedotia spp.)

Nothing new, just the usual apisto stock. A. cacatuoides, A. agassizii, A. viejita, A. nijsseni, T. candidi, that's about all I think.
When I was at Polyart yesterday they had 3 tanks of what I suspect to be Parosphromenus sp. Don't know what species it is exactly, but it was labelled "Wild Local Betta" or something like that. Did you manage to catch a glimpse of those Quixotic?

They were near the front of the shop, where the zebra and tiger otos were kept when stocks came in a month or 2 back...the same row where they line up their show bettas. don't know how else to describe the area
Ya, i saw the"wild bettas" in polyart today. Looked like female bettas to me but the water with too brown due to the ketebang leaves..so cant see much. But i must say, they look pretty "WILD". must be the effect and colour of the water.haha

i bought a couple of the madagascan rainbowfish (i suspect they're Bedotia geayi) then came home and discovered from the Net that they're listed in the IUCN Red Book
i also saw the "wild local bettas" that ilumnae mentioned.. they sure do look like Parosphronemus to me, though what species, i cannot tell.
Those "wild local betta" are sold out at Polyart. I was there yesterday to look at them but was too late.

i suspect they might possibly be Parosphronemus sp "dorsal spot" aka Parosphronemus sumatrensis as they look similar to the ones swimming in my tank and one of the northern shops (i can never get the yishun block numbers right) was carrying a batch about a month back

Does anyone know the ID of the "false lameye" in Polyart?
False lampeye? If memory serves me right, those are Rasbora dorsiocellata.

You can tell a cyprinid (R. dorsiocellata) from a characin (H. griemi) by the absence of the adipose fin in the cyprinid (although a small number of characin do not have them as well, e.g. Hasemania nana).
And I don't think that the supposedly labelled H. griemi in Polyart is the real H. griemi.
