You are right - there is no on/off switch on the fan or the cable. I had plugged mine into the timer (together with the lights), so they run together.

The 'black' button is a rubber gasket to hold the fan in place when it is in use - sort of like a ball-bearing thing.

finally manage to fix it onto my tank
very satisfied with its performance
temp manage to drop from 29 to 27 degree
furthermore its really quiet

yes. its quiet but a little heavy. I can place a hangon filter behind the fan too. saves space

I have purchased this Mr Aqua super-tornado fan about 8 months ago. It was quiet when new. For now, it started to have noise. I think the fan blade balance is out and it hit something. Not lasting I think as compare to those 120mm AC fan in general. As for air flow, the 120mm AC fan is definitely much stronger. Of course, the stronger air flow also comes with more noise. However, it could be help with a regulator like the normal dimmer.
