woke up this morning to find my precious Apisto. agasizzi "red-black" on the floor dried up, what makes the apisto jumped? it has been in my 2ft tank for almost 2months growing up to a handsome man, lots of hiding space and he was never once chase by any fishes.. he was the only one chasing other fishes.. tank was like 8/10 filled with water only.. do apisto just jump when ever they like? this guy only swim at the bottom of the tank... can anyone shed some light on why a apisto will jump when everything in the tank be it tank mates or water parameters is okay?
    thanks....

It is kind of difficult to understand why too.
I personally had experienced with Apistogramma jumping out of the tank too. And I still kept that dried up specimen.

Could be various reasons ranging from being chased, sudden changes in water parameters, spooked, kan jiong for food...

Don't be too upset over it. The bright side will be you can get new Apistogramma.

Happened to me as well. my lovely Ap. bitaeniata, who spent over 8 months of his life always near the bottom of the tank decided to take a jump and perished on the floor below my suspicion is that he was being chased by the female away from the eggs (they had just bred) and as he spent his life at the bottom of the tank, he had no idea what the water surface was, and thus didn't know how to stop himself. his momentum thus brought him out of the water, over the edge and onto the floor.

your fish just got fry right? that's possibly what happened too.
