A species from the A. cacatuoides group. Shot this guy last month while he is in a breeder box.

These are their natural colours with alot of blue involved. And i actually think they are very colourful .

The wild ones will not have the reddish tinge on the edge of the tail. Hence more "dull" in your sense. Only bred specimens will exhibit this type of colouration on the tail. Some can have both ends with the red tinge.

Very nice la. One of the next few species I'm eyeing. I've found new interest in this species. In a breeder box? I do think he will colour up more. Actually yours do have some slight red orange on its tail looking from the reflections on the mirror. Maybe wild do have some redness on its tail too but light intensity.
Looking forward to see photos of A. sp blutkehl.

This is a bred specimen. Hence the red tinge on the tail. I think its very difficult to find wild caught specimens now.

    Nice! One of my favourites.

I noticed that its a single tip of orange on the caudal these days instead of double.
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
