That is not a regulator but sort of like an "on/off" valve only.

while you can attach it using fittings, it is not advisable to do so. if your "manual regulator" is opened too much, overpressure will occur and the fittings and solenoid valve will not be able to habdle the excessive pressure.
use a solenoid valve with a proper regulator where the output pressure is regulated.

Ong, technically you can provided with the threads are the same, but you have to look at the pressure, since i understand from the last time you posted something similar, you regulator do not have a low pressure gauge.

    Ong,
An easier option is to get a solenoid with a regulator, so dont have to worry about finding the right solenoid to fit. I saw a couple of taiwan solenoid with regulators at NA that doesnt cost more than $80.

    hi torque6,

yeah i've seen those. a friend of mine is using it but he was telling me the solenoid is heating up a lot. he can't even touch the solenoid for more than 20 seconds. that's why i'm not sure if that is a good buy

Yup, most taiwan made solenoids are usually hot, mine as well. Which is why im keeping it on for an interval of 4-5 hours only with a 2hr break.

even german solenoid does run hot.
what's important is that they must be long lasting.

Ya, german solenoid are really solid stuff, but they are expensive. I initially wanted to get a swagelok regulator with a solenoid from beaver contromatics but was put off by the hassle of getting one. Ifs both the regulators+solenoid have perfect matching trends, then i wouldnt have so much headache.

you can always check the screw threads on the regulator and solenoid valve first. then go to a valve fittings shop and purchase the fittings to match the two.

Yup, this was what i did, but the 2 guys at both singapore valve and contromatic couldnt give me the exact specs like swee sin lol. Both indicated that the other must fit their trends lol. Anyway, got the jbj solenoid sometime back, and am keeping photoperiod to 4/4 hrs interval to keep it from burning up.

take mrt to novena and walk towards balestier road. i think its balestier shopping center. you'll reach a chinese restaurant and opposite it is the bus stop. walk further down for about 50 meters NA should be on your right.

anyway you can get the address from the forum directory.

Ong, you actually walk ?? i take a bus hehehe.
Fugu, you can exit novena MRT, walk towards the church, take the overhead bridge and ride buses 167,162,56,143 and a couple more buses to thomson medical centre. Its only 2 stops away. Once there, NA is on the opposite side of the road. Its quite obvious and you can see it.

Think of getting the regulator with solenoid which you mentioned below $80.
But dunno whether Taiwan made, can tahan or not. And the medium-size cylinder, is it 5L and what the market price?

    Thanks
