Cardinals Vs. Pristella (X-ray)

I'm thinking about purchasing a small school (7~9, or more if I can get my hands on them) and I was wondering what the general community thoughts on them were. Anyone have any stories, or specific warnings and such. Thanks for your time.

i have both of them in my tank. X-ray pistella i think is not so nice as compared to balloon pistella. As their eyes look weird to me. But its up to u. I personally feel that cardinal tetra is much easier to keep and cheaper....alot cheaper than pistella. my pistella after sometime has a swimming problem, in the sense that it body keep on tilting up and down as it swims. However, i must say, that balloon pistella are nice fishes.....btw, both species swim in a school....ya, so its like what u wanted, schooling fishes.:>hope it helps.

cardinal are generally cheaper here in singapore, however cardinals are more popular as schooling fishes.

pristellas are pretty creatures too. prob cost 3 times the price average.

i pefer pristellas because it reminds me of schools of the fish that shoals with tamban at bedok jetty but price wise its more expensive then cardinals so cardinals would be a better alternative
