I'm not sure if things are ok at this point of time.

    I started a new tank 4ft approx 1/1/2002.

I cycled the tank with 7 discus and 1 arowana. 50% water change daily. + water from established tank.

    yesterday, I did a 75% water change.
    today, 24 hours later.
nitrite is 0, ammonia is 0.
    PH: 6.6
    KH: 4 dKH

its 14 days now. a little too fast? tank is planted.

    hi loupgarou

what was the NH, NO2, and NO3 reading prior to the 75% waterchange?.....if they are at respectable levels, think 75% may be too much .....perhaps reduce to 30% every 4 to 5 days and at the meantime monitor the NO2/3 levels.

previous to the 75% water change

ammonia was at 0.5% for the first 5 days. (but its nh3/nh4 depending on ph.)

nitrite was reading at 0.25 (but I think its much lower than that since the test kit was capable of 0 , 0.25, ....etc)

so I guess all is normal.

not too many casualties over the whole 2 weeks

1 discus and bichir jumped out and the farlowella died some how (either got bitten by aro or nitrite poisoning.)
