I have the 1 ft 24 W light set using in my 1 ft tank.
Not too bad considering that if you want a light that is above 20W for a 1ft tank than it is only the ADA light set at 27W which cost a hand and limb. Correct me if I am wrong. I only see the Dymax lightset and the customised light set by NA when I was searching for a light for my 1 ft but they are all below 20W.
Another thing the clamp quite big so can accomodate my 1ft with rims on the top.
Oh and it can flip up to allow you to feed your fish or pour in water. The design not fantastic but I am happy with it.

ah, i didnt know mizu world carries both ANS/dazs products. The illumax PL lights looks good, but i havent come across anyone using it. It just comes with the standard casing, but i dont see any mounts/fittings that you can use.

The amazonia II soil seems to be cheaper too $21, most places sells around 29-35.

I am quite tempted with the 3ft t5ho lights that comes with night light but more than 150 quite hefty. By the way what is the benefits of night light except that it prevent sudden light off which I am not sure if it really affects the fish?

We will be stocking most of ANS and Dazs products.

For the Illummax PL lights, each set comes with a flippable stand. Usually for technical products like these, it's pretty difficult to show all the pictures.

The moonlights are more for visual effects.

Besides the point you stated, some fishes are only active when the lights are off. However, you can't view them clearly when so! But with the LEDs, this becomes possible and you can observe their behaviour.

For marine tanks, this is an almost must-have feature. If you have watched night diving videos on TV, you will know the effects.

    Hi Jerome,

We have replied your email but for the benefit of others on the forum, we will post the specs here as well.

The Illummax 1.5ft PL set can be extended to a maximum of 50cm but it may not be very stable.
When tested, stretching it to 48cm is still stable and is safer, especially if you are placing it on top of a braceless tank.

Another clear advantage of having LED moonlight is extended viewing time.

Other kind of viewing experience that is, since the intensity is far much subdued. Not much risk of having excessive algae and no more pitch dark tank after the light is out.

I used to have DIY moonlights for my breeding tanks in the past, it allows me to observe the fish behaviour which is different during bright light period.....an interesting experience

Re: Illummax - Compact 1.5ft (PL)

Reviving an old thread. Does anyone know the length and height of the illumax 1.5ft set without the legs? I want to see if it can fit inside my hood
