I believe the absence of natural predator and water movement is partly to be blamed for the algae outbreak! The new light evoked the process

But there are always silver linings... new growth after 3 days

    Baby leaves all over!!!

And also... things that I tend to miss using my naked eyes... only became obvious under my macro lens

I wonder where they come from... can you see the other snail?

I think this tank will evolve to the next stage since I've brought it to the next level with the new light

Maybe I'll try cutting down the lighting duration. And fill up with DI water instead of fertilized water from my 2ft.

Seeing as snails are both genders (forgotten the technical term for it) they don't require a partner to reproduce. So assuming they grow up into the same type of snail you'll have more of them just from the one parent.

Just like some fish such as the Australian Barramundi No harm having them there I guess

    Manually removing the hair algae

Added a few stem stalks (trimmed from my 2ft tank) to help with excess nutrients export

Poor fella Obviously sustaining the life of a fish in a tank this small is out of the question. Bit unfair to keep a fish in conditions that small anyway to be frank.

    Hi Jervis,

Sorry about the death of your cute mini Goby.. By the way, Seeing the size of the tank really make me wonder what is the actual size of the bumble bee goby? Is it around 1 cm at most? How did you manage to find such a small little bumble bee in the first place?

    Regards
    Samuel

Yes the mini Goby is about 1cm in length. I have not seen them since at the LFS... so probably they are not that common.

Jervis, as this tank has good light and it is small, would you consider HC?

Actually I am fighting hair algae at the moment... thanks to the high light

I might have to restart this tank and revert back to the original lighting And keep some moss or something

The good thing about mini tank is that you could nuke it and whip up something new within say, 10 minutes!
