    Hi,

Need some advice on whether caves made from the PVC tubing or slate stone are preferred? Anyone succeed in breeding L46 using PVC tubing?

I have been looking around the LFS for the slates stone caves but was not successful? Any idea where I can get besides getting from oversea?

    regards

Two known breeding from PVC that I know of, both locally.
You can also silicon the outside and coat it with your substrate.
This will make it look more natural and plesant to look at.
Also, make sure you "anchor" it to the substrate by digging it in.
Otherwise they will tumble around your tank when they are fighting for the cave.
Then it will turn into a mobile home and not be very condusive for breeding!

When the fish want to breed they will find a way.
Some have been known to breed in crevices in driftwood or natural stone too.

If I knew you were looking earlier, I would be able to order a few extras for you.

Interesting... Where did you manage to find slate of the right size, those I can get from C328 are mainly broken bits.

I wanted to make my own too, was thinking of using those "rocky" finishing ceramic tiles that contractors sometimes use for toilet floors, cutting them to shape and gluing them together with silicone glue.

At the end I found it to be too much of a hassle. I was informed that I will receive 11 caves for the 50USD box that i bought. I think its rather well priced (even after factoring in shipping) given that USD is pretty weak now.

Will post pictures once i get them. In the meantime, if anyone finds a source of suitable slate tiles, do let me know

    Hi Savant,

When would you receive your order? I know there are few sources from the internet and if your is ok, I might want to order from your source. Care to share?

    regards

I am getting my caves from ZCliff from the plecofanatics forum. Should be arriving anytime soon. You might want to join in and order with the other bros... I note that quite a few of them are interested in getting these caves
