eheim 2213 - not working

Tried that. After rocking the filter will jet out a long stream of fine bubbles and stops, but next day or so... it repeats.

Its a 2ft planted with CO2 injection set at 1+bps.

Deff, check your inlet connections for any leaks. These gaps do draw in air into the canister resulting in a fine stream of bubbles from your outlet pipe. This can be frustrating if your outlet is connected to a reactor. Also ensure that your canister is free of air pockets by shaking it a bit for the air to escape.

is the co2 injected into the canister through the inlet pipe?

try rocking a few more times until you are sure that there is no air bubbles in the canister.

Possibly the big O-ring has worn out and air is being sucked in (instead of leaking out???)

The Eheim 2222 comes with a small tube of vaseline which is to be applied on the o-ring before closing the filter. After a few months my filter will start collecting air on a daily basis. Problem is solved by re-applying the vaseline.

the double tap is usually used on the inlet pipe where there is two lever taps that are separated by a plastic bolt and thread that joins together. This doesnt void you from doing the usual 'suck job'...just that with the tap you can shut it off before you start swallowing the tank water.

thanks for your invaluable advise. i'm beginning to think i have a faulty pump.

i tried just now in the bathroom with a pail of water put higher than the filter, then suck the water from the outlet pipe; connected to valve on cover.

then when the water get to the outlet pipe, i on the filter.

1. hear noise
2. the water not being pump out.

when i put the outlet pipe on the floor, the water start flowing out and the pail of water being emptied.

so does that mean the pump got problem ?

I have contacted the seller wanting my $$ back but he seems reluctant; still waiting for his call back....

Did you try placing the whole motor (black color) unit (without the casing!) in a pail of water, then on it? If water coming out of the outlet side then it is OK. [:]

you may want to check your impeller if it is damaged as peter has suggested. I have no experience with this model of fiilter from ehiem, check the ceremic rod if it is broken as well as the two rubber ends of the rod if its is present and securing the rod (that is if the rod is not damaged)

ok i reaplced the ceramic stick still the same problem. water not climbing up.

cannot find any parts from NA. C328 doesn't seems to have the impeller for 2213.

so anyone know where to find the impeller for 2213 ?

yihu has given up the agency for ehiem. so there may be a shortage of parts....i will suggest that you try at rainbow or havelock. As for the impeller, check at the ehiem website. I believe that there is a PDF instruction manual file.
