i suspect maybe what u got is this Aponogeton madagascariensis which is also called the lace plant. do they have net like leaf? if they do i suppose they are.
On the weekend I purchased a plant that looks very much like cryptocoryne balansai but in the shop it was called "Queensland lace plant". Is there a lace fern of some description that looks like the crypt balansai??? It's not the healthy-est plant at the moment because I don't know what conditions it likes (bright/shade etc). Please help!

it is oso listed under the 'edible plant list'
