Well where do i start. Hello to all, found this forum by browsing pics of aquascaping and thought i'd join =D

I'm James. I'm 18 years old. I've been keeping and breeding (to some extent) tropical fish for nearly three years. Started off as an impulse buy of a 180 litre aquarium which i've successfully kept my fish happy and healthy in for the 3 years now. I'm currently looking into buying a 380 litre aquarium to accompany my current tank in my room, which i plan to get a pair of Jack Dempseys in. Although having a go at some of this serious aquascaping looks very very appealing.

    Current tank: Juwel Rio 180

    x2 Clown loach
    x2 Blue gouramis (currently breeding)
    x9 Rummy nose tetras
    x5 japonica shrimp
    x2 bristlenose plecs
    x2 flying foxes
x1 unknown black and white loach (1.5inch approx)

Well thats me and my tank. Hopefully you'll have me here =) certainly a pleasure to finally get myself signed up to a fishy forum =) let my enthusiasm for tropical fish keeping explode within the confines of this forum. =D

    Welcome to AQ Verminator!

You may have gone into the hobby too far for any kind redemption...
Next you will want "grow out" tanks for the fry.
And maybe one for just shrimps, and one for....
But you're in good company here though.

Yes, i'm currently planning out a 4ft tank to go into a specialised planted tank for perhaps one or two species of either fish, shrimp of both. I'm definately too far gone to turn back, i'm hooked on aquatics for life

Unfortunately new set-up is probably on hold for a year or so. Major re-scape of my bedroom at the moment . Although i have just re-scaped my 180 litre tank. Pics of that can be found on the following link http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=41012

Feel free to add your two cents.

For the time being i may invest in two 1.5 foot tanks and set them up as species tanks for German Blue Ram Cichlids and possibly a pair of gourami (undecided on species).
