    Guys

need advice. after introduction of 1 pair of apisto viejita into my 1 feet than the female started to be very aggresive to the male. It chased the male until it hides in behind a rock. It was ok in the beginning.
Thought she was starting to breed so I removed the male but I did not see any eggs around.
When can I put back the male into the tank?

Most apistogrammas are naturally aggressive. In a 1ft tank it is important to provide lots of hiding space for both fishes so that there can be times when there is no line of sight between the 2.
A way to see whether the female is breeding is by her colours. Normally a more yellowish colour with dark black markings would indicate that she is ready to breed or has bred.

if she exhibits black ventrals and bright yellow. means she had spawned better remove your male before she killed him

Lots of java ferns logs, clumps of moss help prevent line of sight and provide lots of hiding space.
