    Hi,

Just wonder what most of you use to cover/block the internal filter's inlet to prevent shrimps from being sucked it.....?

I'm using canister type with a walking stick shaped inlet.....

And if i want to start keeping shrimps, is it i can't keep other fauna like tetras, algae eater....etc.

What important pointers when keeping shrimps?

    dont put neons in.
    i use a sponge.

i dont have any fish in my crystal red shrimp tank, because sometimes the fish can stress them out.
although this is not with all fish though, just most of them.

    :]

maybe you should try getting a more shrimp safe filter, or try and hide in the gravel, behind rocks, and behind plants

Suggest that if you are setting up a shrimp tank, the best environment will be a tank wihout fishes and full of plants. As for water inlet, you need to cover them with either sponge filter if not servaral layers of fine netting. If you are haveing a surface skimmer, i suggest that you wrape a few layers of netting to prevent the shrimplets from flowing into your filter.
