Have seen Nanas tied to nice DW looking very outstanding in a bare tank. Thought of doing this arrangement in my tank but worry if nanas can grow healthily. If i don't intend to add any fertilizer will it survive just on the nitrite produce by the bioload in the tank?

Nanas can thrive pretty well; but their growth will be slow at first. When attaching them to driftwood many like to use cotton thread; as it will decompose gradually allowing the nana rhizomes to anchor. IMO bioload will be enough nutrients for survival. I have had nanas for yrs without adding ferts and they are fantastic hardy plants.

    Good Luck
