    Hi everyone,

i am going to set-up a non-planted aquarium to house some L46. What colour of lights should i use such that it would make the L46 appear the most beautiful?

i heard red lights are good, or should i use red + white? or just white?
    or blue

    Please give your suggestions

i use half blue half white as i keep plants. they seem good with it. 5W over a 2ft tank.
planning to get some moonlights soon but i think it will affect their physiology...

    1. 5watt? isn't that too dim? i thought the brighter the light, the nicer the colour of the fish?

    2. Why would moonlights affect their physiology?

well.. because maybe it is not supposed to have any light at all at night! and if you add moonlight, the fishes might think its not night time yet.. so they don't come out to play, something along that line..
and you should do a read up on L46.. or at least plecos.. most plecos do not like light at all..

If you see them too much out in the open, it is generally NOT a good sign.

And they look most enhanced when their tank is a replica of the natural environment where they come from.

Thanks Quixotic. i can't seem to find many pictures of L46 hobbyists' tank's scape. Do you know where i can find alot of pictures showing how other L46 keepers design their tank beautifully?

    cheers
