    Hi,

I need some advises from the guru here on how can i trim the grass which i am having in the pic. Hope to hear from all soon. Thanks

looks a like blyxa japonica. If so you can't trim it, once you cut the tip the whole leave will rot

You can "peel" off the older leaves or just yank out the whole plant and leave the new young growth aside. It spreads itself out via runners and that is how you control it's growth.

It is an invasive weed. If you do EI and have good light, CO2 and regular tank maintenance, you would have trouble keeping it in check and over running the tank.

If i am not wrong, based on my experiece Blyxa will never spread runners. instead it will grow up, up, up, up.....

but normally this type of grass is used as foregrass....if that is the case, will it be hard to maintain?

It a stem plant so no runner and grow up-up-up, but if you cut the top it will grow branch on the side.

If you cut it, it will rot and I heard from places that the whole plant will die.

To trim it you will have to wait til it grows out. It has the same structure as Downoi and Dwarf Lobelia Cardinalis. They will send side shoots near the roots. When your Blyxa gets too big, Take it out of your tank and seperate them.

    Like this http://dodoaq.ic.cz/foto/rastliny/blyxa_japonica_6.jpg

You see how a sideshoot came out near the roots.

The principle is the same, trim down. plants will send runners to the side. Thats how we mostly encourage plant mass.
