Heya guys, I bought a pair of what was supposed to be Apistogramma sp. "Rotpunkt" from Seaview today..

However, after doing some reading on the net, i'm not so sure if my fish are Ap. sp. "rorpunkt", Ap. sp. "Puerto Narino", or Ap. sp. "Schwarsaum".

Anyone here knows the different species' diagnostic features? I can't get good photos of the fish at the moment, they're still settling in and are terrified of my camera lens

Hmm.. i'd be really happy if my fish turns out as beautiful as that mine look more like these posted on theKrib, http://www.thekrib.com/Apisto/A-sp-puerto-narino.html.
The pic of the adolescent male could have been mine and even i wouldn't be able to tell the difference

they are the same. people from different locality used different trade name.
some use species name, some use fish locality name, some name after the guy who found them.

I see. Thanks. So much confusion over the names of these undescribed apistos... i read that Ap. sp. "Rotpunkt" has been described as Apistogramma alacrina though.

Oh well. Now I just hope i haven't gotten a sneaker male instead of a female.
