What'll happen if i had a small plastic guppy tank with 3 walls full of green algae, would the algae function like those anacharis and clean the water up?

I'm keeping transparent (ghost ???) shrimps there.

Thought would be that that tank will be able to sustain itself with a few pellets of fish food weekly.

If you need to change water twice a month... then the tank is not fully sustainable by itself... but it's a very interesting concept which is quite possible to achieve... in the end you still need to top up water i suppose unless you have an airtight container
