Hey there guys, was just wondering, how do you guys introduce new females to your resident male apistos without the new females being harassed to death?
My first caca male was very "in the mood" when i introduced his new wife, and immediately took to mating with her.. when i tried to introduce a new agassizii female to one of my single males though, he went ballistic.

You can let the female be the resident in the tank for a week. Let her get comfortable with the environment first before re-introducing the male.
If things are getting bad for you at the moment, i suggest to remove the male for the time being. Or add alot more hiding places for the female to seek refuge. Caves that are big enough for the female but too small for the male would be an excellent hiding spot.

lee1224: no worries, she's fine, eating hikari frozen bloodwormsthe tank's planted, so many places for her to hide. i am just wondering how and if they're gonna pair up.
genes: yes, i was thinking of removing the male for now. i'll have to clear my pelvicachromis fry tank anyway, moving them to a bigger tank. Any idea where i can get good caves? i'm presently using a Daiso pot that i "artfully" broke
Try plant nurseries or Teo's Aquatic farm for small clay pots.
