It's coming soon. So which team are you supporting now that overated England is out!

    My personal favourites
The Netherlands: Extremely talented squad with plenty of attacking options, Huntelaar, van Persie, Babel, Kuyt, Van Nisterooy...

Spain: Torres and Fabregas and gang.

Portugal would be nice to watch too but i am skeptical of Ronaldo's ability when he plays for country.

    I've always fancied the Italians.
Too bad they didn't bring Inzaghi along, I still think he will be more than good enough even though he's a tad old at 35. If Cassano can concentrate on his football rather than being ill-disciplined for once! *fingers crossed*. And I miss the likes of Maldini, Nesta and Totti.

    i'll back holland
for once they enter a major tournament without bickering within the squad
hope they can finally show their talent - especially with the depth they have in the forward areas
still miss van basten as a player though... i still rate him as the best striker i've ever seen

spain has a lot of talent too, especially in the midfield areas

i don't quite fancy italy to make it out of the group of death though
i think holland and france will qualify

but the ball is always round though!

I think if Cassano plays, he could make or break the Italians. Definitely a great player when he feels like it, but his discipline record certainly doen't help. And this year the Italian defence isn't as good as the ones before.

Romania are underrated too and could well be a surprise for the so-called big teams.

Speaking of underdogs... I am going out with a limb here and say Turkey. (Greece anybody?)

Italy isn't showing much promise with the friendlies they've played recently. But you never write off the world champions.

Cannavaro is OUT! This puts a huge gap in Italy's defence. Metaruzzi and Barzagli are just not of the same class...... Nesta please come back for one last time.

I think Holland is so - so. Alot depends on Sneijder and Robben. Van Persie is a weak boy, can play but weak - injury prone. Van der Vaart must justify his talent! or else is a waste. The strikers only Van Nistelrooy can play. Kuyt is bad! I know cos I am Liverpool fan

The really talented team is France. Karim Banzema, Samir Nazri, Frank Ribery and more are the in-form players (except Samir) But then, they seldom played well together esp Henry who only knows how to play football when wearing an Arsenal shirt.

With that said. I boldly pick Spain. Most of their players are playing in foreign leagues and this made them more savvy. And Torres hit form the right time. Add - David Villa, David Silva, and Inesta and more... Lastly, it is not like last time where the whole first XI is from Barcelona and Madrid. The rivalry in Spain camp is less bitter now.

Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the best player in the world now. I hate him. But he is so good and always take pressure away from his own defence. Hold the ball so well. And can beat everyone. Then, football is a team game. Portuagal - have got no good strikers of the ball.. unless Tevez and Rooney plays for Portugal.. else tough tough job.

I wish for C Ronaldo to miss another penalty!

    Hi folks

Portugal is a dangerous dark horse in my opinion. If there is any surprise team tat can snatch the title from the favourites such as Germany, France and Spain, I guess it would be Portugal. The team is resilient, cohesive and extremely hard to beat under Scolari. Their problem is lack of a sharp finisher but if Ronaldo can raise to the occasion like he did with Man U, I think they could be the team to beat.

Germany should also have reasonable chance of nicking it..not a beautiful team by any means but shows character and strong mental toughness..

    agree?
    cheers

    Italy skinned like Oranges

Metaruzzi and Barzagli are just not good enough.... The Dutch team took advantage of Cannavaro's absence and tore the Italians apart in a 3-0 win. I'm surprised Donadoni started with De Rossi on the bench.

Wah! Pants dropped. Kuyt assisted two goals. By far, the best performance by a single team. outpassed the Italian team. I think even Brasil will be beaten based on last night Dutch performance.

I think perhaps a more defensively solid partnership than the Metaruzzi-Barzagli partnership would not be so bad. And Ambrosini was simply outclassed, outran and outplayed by the Dutch..........
If Italy plays this way against either France or Romania it'll be back home for some maccoroni and pasta.
