i saw this really peculiar looking shrimp at c328 once quite some time and i just recalled it. it's very much like a glass shrimp but on 2nd look u can see white speckles on it's greyish black body colour. i can frankly say that at first glance i thought the shrimp were suffering from white spot!

but when i looked closer they were just plain shrimp with the white speckling. really nice but cryptic shrimp cos their body colour matched the black gravel in that particular tank.

judging from the stuff i've dug up online, they're most likely either palaemon spp./ caridina spp./atya or paratya spp. did anyone else see that particular shrimp? or better still, does anyone know the identity of the shrimp?

from what i see, the shrimp were too big to be caridina and they looked pretty much like the palaemon spp. but after observing them they pretty much just hid under or around the filter. i guess they must be either atya or paratya spp. does anyone know anything bout this particular shrimp? if it's an atya or paratya species then it's closely related to the wood shrimp (also a filter feeder as them)

mMmm.. well lucky for me i don't keep my apistos with any shrimp. i heard about how they'll turn into dinner for the apistos especially during moulting time.

regarding this shrimp, it's kinda perplexing but i'm still wondering what species it is. u said something about it being weak. i suppose it's a delicate species for the home aquarium.

    DEA,

I too had bought this shrimp the other time from C328. After a few days, I have lost that shrimp. Seems to be quite weak as compared to other species.
