Assuming you havnt just got taller plants that havnt grown much at the back i believe plants with a little height would add depth to the tank. Also you thought about some moss on the wood/rock (can't tell if its wood or rock) Some taller hairgrass at the back perhaps would add height and keep with the obvious grassy feel you've gone for.

Some amazon sword plants or tall plants on the left might help to camo the pipes![]()
Verminator: Thanks for the advice! Those are rocks by the way, and I don't suppose I will be covering them in moss since I like the way they look now. However, would like to get some taller plants to hide the pipes at the back as well as to add height and keep with the obvious grassy feel I've gone for.. You mentioned hairgrass, sounds good but are they tall enough? Because the hairgrass I have seen so far are short, more suited for foreground.
patricc: Thanks for the advice. Exactly! Am wanting to get taller plants to hide those hideous pipes at the back. Will be looking out for those amazon sword. Any names to recommend by the way?
Overall, the plants are good, just that the midground plant is too in front. Get some foreground plants, and the fast growing plant push to background....that's what I am suggest to you.

jasonc: Hi.midground plants? which one are you referring to? I thought these plants are slow-growing?

sragor there are smaller and taller HG, you've just got to find one that suits your tank. There are species of Anubias that grow taller, with thinnner leaves too. Theres plants such as Vallisnera spiralis and other such plants that grow tall and thin leaved. Entirely depends on the look you want to go for.

Verminator: Thanks for the clarification. Vallisnera spiralis looks like a viable option too! I guess I'll be keeping a lookout for the taller hairgrass, if not probably Vallisnera spiralis will do fine in my tank.
jasonc: Sorry for the confusion guys! The setup with the blue background is my current and latest layout, the one which I am intending to improve on! My bad![]()
Valisneria spiralis grows extremely quickly though, so be prepared to do a lot of pruning and replanting![]()
I've had it in my tank for 2 years without pruning once and its only about 7inchs longer than my tank is high. my tank is 20inch high, so it hangs across the top of the tank with the top 7inch. Growth is adequate, maintainable without much pruning, I literally havnt trimmed mine ever.
Although that may suggest it doesnt cope brilliant in my tank![]()

This scape looks awfully familiar![]()
Anyway how do I get my background right? The oyama paper was really hard to stick onto the back. Lots of 'bubbles' as can be seen from the black spots. Also, Blue or white?

Got around 3 pots of plants (I have no idea their ID) to fill the background (Left side of picture). But they look a little sparse don't they?
Give them time, they should bulk out after a month or two. Then you will be able to see if they need to move or be planted a bit closer/further together.
If you had the names of the plants we'd be able to tell you now![]()
