Thanks for the compliment Loopy. I have been kind of experimenting with some HC growing on that little spot. I did get a sand flattener this week, and have been working on getting the sand and substrate put back in place. I find the coral red pencilfish to be totally non aggressive. I have them with P. Gertrudae, blue Axelrodi rasboras, and blue Sumatran gobies. I am getting some black morpho tetras this week. Not sure if I should chance them in this tank or place them in one of my other tanks.

Aggression of Nannostomus mortenthaleri (coral red pencilfish) towards other fish is a non-issue, just the normal territorial disputes. However, they can be very aggressive among their own species. If you do not have a large enough tank or hiding places, the males may end up killing each other.

I too have a spot in my tank I want to go HC. But to be climb a chair and have to reach into the tank 200 times placing each HC is something I have
to be in the mood to do. I experimented with HC in the test-office tank. I failed and failed. Always turned brown. Read up a realised it was a nutrient thing.

In any case, I hope you put the HC's or some sort of plant like that, I am interested to see how it goes. Your growth rate is great!

Oh! That is some good information. I did not know that, thank you.
