Tank helped need asap

help guys, yesterday night i found out my a very small pool beside my cabinet tank.i wipe off the water and and more water seep out from under the styrofoam.(i mean under, i dunno why).thinking of skipping school today get a new tank to replace but when i just woke up, i dun see any leak at all, touch the towel which i cover the area for prevention, it was dry.what should i do?? very scared the leak would come again.dunno should i go get a new tank. mine is a 2 piece 2ft glass tank curve

HI, are you sure it is from the tank?could it be from somewhere else?like rain water (if your tank is placed near the window)?anyway if you are sure its from the tank then maybe you should go back to the shop or tankmaker and change for a new one.Since you touch it later in the morning and its dry,i think the leakage is not from the tank.

Possibility number one: You were having a bad dream.

Otherwise, change that current tank you have. A leak is serious. Nothing else needs to be said.

But perhaps you want to experience gushing water from your tank first before you do that replacement.

hi thanks for your quick reply.my tank was place at the hallway and nothing near the window.so i'm very sure it was not rain water.also yesterday, when i saw the water pool yesterday, i wipe it off, but after a while,water was seeping from under the styrofoam again again(i mean under, i don't know why).is there a way to check if tank was leaking? and i know this would seem impossible, but is it possible for leak tank to stop leaking?

To have a peace of mind, get yourself a new tank. If not, monitor for another day.

To me, it is normal that after you wipe off the pool of water, you will see some water seeping from under the styrofoam again cos you only manage to wipe off those on the surface but not those trap under the styroform.

just keep on checking it- maybe it was just a residue from the first time you filled your tank that got trapped between the styro and the glass. my aquarium has a water leak detector near it maybe you can install one for peace of mind.

came back from rainbow just now bought a new tank and also a sealeant, want to try repair the tank as it was quite new and i like the tank dimension very much.then got excuse to set up another tank
the instruction on the sealant wrote it will cure in 48h.for aquarium tank, do i need to wait longer?

yah follow the instructions accordingly. i think its even better if you can take out most of the old silicone first, then clean it with acetone or denatured alcohol, and a clean rug just to ensure proper bonding of the new sealant on to the glass. try to get the right bead in one pass, or do your 'sculpturing' in just a few mins after applying it; otherwise, it will start to skin up or harden up. it will have a bumpy and messy apperance by then.
