Had some of these for more than a month. And just got another 3 more of these beauties from abroad.

Quite a friendly bunch. Mix well with my other tetras. Not difficult to keep.

    Yuppen, yuppen.

Actually got from Basilaqua through Hong Kong Fish were Fedexed over.

No more searching high and low for exotic/rare species!

Next up – Tucano! That is after I had "recuperated" and if they have it.

Ha ha, I know, ranmasatome. You told me once.

That's why its all about fitting one's scheme according to budget

At first, I planned for a school of Tucano, but now I aim for a pair or just 3!

Sigh, simply too many exotics and too little budget ~

In my earlier post, I wrote Hyphessobrycon Takasei mixes well with the other tetras – I stand corrected

I had not had the time to look closely as I was busy until now. Holy shit, my Hyphessobrycon Takasei had decimated my Hyphessobrycon Haraldschultzi.

None of the haraldschultzi tetra has untattered fins! One of them is missing the entire caudal fin, damn. Like it's been sliced off by a samurai.

They are characins..haha.. when mixing them, this is always something to look out for. I don't know if its because they look so similar but the ones i had were fine when i mixed them with my ember tetras...

Ranmasatome, I think maybe the configuration of the tank plays a part.
Because mine is an odd shape tall size (40 cm x 40 x 70) so both types of tetras are swimming at the bottom. Turf war broke out.

Hell, in fact I also saw one Coffee bean missing the upper half of its caudal fin! But this one I suspect is due to a fight to establish pecking order/alpha male and this one lost. The rest of the Coffee beans are okay though.

Sorry, don't have pics yet. But I don't think its going to make it. Because during feeding time, it loses out and its hanging around near my filter.
