    Hi everyone,

Here is my 3 ft. x 1.5 ft. x 1.5 ft. low-tech tank with densely planted.
Most of the plants are slow in growth, and need not change water but only top up water twice a week.

Plants:Anubias nana, anacharis, java fern, cabomba, moneywort, corkscrew vallisrieria, windelov, ludwigia inclinata and hydrotriche.
Lighting 54 watts with 6 hrs/day, and fertilizer seachem excel.

Hope you like it and any comments are welcome, so as to gain knowledge in aquascaping. Hahaha

Haha, i see you've put your star wars characters back in, or did you not remove them.

In the far right corner is that a cabomba? It looks out of place to me, i find planting them hard due to the rate at which they usually grow. Often becomming 'leggy' in a short space of time. Perhaps some plants toward the back that have a little height about them, struggling to think of a few examples that would fit in, Pogostemon stellatus {Eusteralis stellata} is an option. Hydrocotyle leucocephala {Brazilian pennywort} could be another option. Both could look a bit out of place though. Just a suggestion. I do like it though, even the characters

How long has the tank been running for? Looks fairly mature, certainly doesnt look like its been set up within the last month. If it has then you've done a good job making it look mature!

    Cpark,
When i checked the thread, and saw your first thumbnails, i thought you were going for a shipwreaked theme and have listed your plants in green at the bottom of your pic.

I was shocked that the ship was actually a crashed x-wing and the illustration was none other than"...yoda trained luke....

    LOL

    Hi Verminator,
    a) This is another difference tank from the previous one, previous was 2 footer tank and I'm collector of starwars figures which can display here.
    b) The plants at the far right call Tropical Hortwort. I think you are right by adding more tall stem plants at the back. (Eusteralis stellata) but Brazilian pennywort may not available here, not sure how it looks like?
c)I agree with you that Cabomba and Hortwort high growth rate and becomes leggy after that.
    d) My tank is about 2 months old and all plants are very slow in growing.
Yeah, it does look mature, that's what I like it being a low maintainence tank and am happy with it.

Thanks for your compliment and hope you like it.

Hey! That's not right! Chewbacca never set foot on Dagobah. He was getting his hairy arse kicked on Bespin at that time. Also the Xwing's position is wrong, it should be angled with the nose in the mud.

By the way, ever considered entering the ADA comp with this in the Biotope section? Whos to say these plants never existed on Dagobah anyway?

Ah you've expanded on your idea of Star Wars-themed tanks. Very interesting and refreshing. Just need to make it a little darker IMHO.

Hi Torque6, sort of a surprise for you, yeah, at a fast glance at the thumbnail it does look like a shipwreaked, so you got trick by the picture.
You have been working very hard to solve many problems for those in the forum. May when you saw my tank will give you a sense of more relax over this hobby
Hope you like it and thanks for helping out at this forum.

This is Hydrocotyle leucocephala {Brazilian pennywort}. Its truely one of my favourite plants, if you can get hold of it i highly recommend it. Grows well, spreads nicely and can cover rocks/plants and look truely stunning.

Hi bro, you are right that Chewbacca was not in the ground of Dagobah as in the show. This tank has starwars figures as display and did not copy from any scene from lucasfilm and solely an aquascaping planted tank. It is not the intend of this tank as an infringe upon the intellectual property right of the starwars TM. So what you see will focus mainly a planted tank plus some figures. To protect myself, this tank will not be in comp. anyway....
Hope you enjoy the picture of my tank.

Glad i could help. I'm not much of a plant person myself, but this plant for some reason just looks good in any tank i've seen. When fully established they can reach the top of the tank and the roots under the leaves just add to the appearance. Simply stunning plant when grown well.

I do hope you find it and enjoy it!
