Anyone know how I can bond a pair of Apisto Viejita?
I try almost everything but my female is still very aggresive to my male till the point that the tail is almost bitten off.
I have a 1 ft tank and recently put in a bunch of windelov ferns to create some hiding place still no improvement leh

    Any bright idea?

Tried this method of putting the male in a small clear acrylic container with suction caps that is securing it to the side of the tank. Put this into the main tank just below the water surface and immediately the female will dash in aggresion to the male but cannot harm it.
Left it for about a week or more and the male escape from captivity by iteself.
A week later fry are spotted in the tank.

Not sure if this method really work but thought I would share it.

    Hi,

nice tatic. Similar to how I use to breed my bettas.

Just to check, is there much water flow in the container and does the male Apisto seem stress when placed in it?

    Thanks.

Yes because the acylic container has small opening (slots) to allow water to flow through. The container is acutally a small hatchary of some sort.
Right got the idea from betta breeding.

Initially yes, stressed, but after a while it ok, it seem to stable down.
