    Hi all,

just bought my 1st bottle of Seachem Flourish today from a LFS. The bottle seems to be abit old (with stains & the bottle is a bit compressed)..

When I opened the seal, there was a fizz sound (guess due to the compression on the bottle..) & I noticed that the solution inside is brownish in colour [Is it supposed to be this colour?] & it has a strange smell... Am concerned if the contents in the bottle could be spoilt, hence does not dare to dose in my tanks yet...

Am I being 'mountain tortoise' or what? Thanks in advance.

not so sure about the fizz sound..

but the color and smell is normal. i recalled that long time ago when i dosed it, it's brown color. and of course, since its fertiliser, it does smell different.

There should be an expiry date on the bottle. But of course, if they are stored in not so favourable conditions at the lfs, they do expire much earlier.

    Beetle,

as long its smells like soya sauce, you are fine. I have mine ziplock in a bag and place in a refrigerator to maintain its "freshness".

Hi torque, is it really a must to keep 'Flourish' in the fridge? [Scared later my mum will mistaken it as soya sauce & use it to cook for us... ] I kept mine inside a cabinet, will it be ok?

    Cheers!

Its ok to keep in the cabinet, its just an option to keep it refrigerated. I actually think my sechem stability needs to be refigerated instead of this flourish.
