nice setup but somehow feel that it looks kinda flat... the forground rocks arrangements looks good though
Hi guys,
After taking the picture of my previous scaping, and sending it for this year IAPL08.
After getting the plants, driftwoods and rocks. I decided to rescape my 1.5ft tank.
Will be creating a riverbed setup, using GEX Sand and previous ADA Substrate
and topping up with new ADA Amazonia II power.
Topview of the substrate setup
Hope to hear more from you soon!
The driftwood and rocks that i will choose from to use for my new setup.
The hardscape. (Not too sure if i am making any sense with this complicated hardscape.)
Over the horizon @ Day 1 18th May 08.
This is the my new scape. Comments and critiques are welcome.
I really suffering from serious backache now.

Looking forward for the plants to grow out.
Very nice wood...![]()
Hi Chee Yong, it was great to chat with you at Biotope on Thursaday.![]()
Since your new theme is river bed, I would suggest you install a small powerhead next to the background plants to create a 'fast flowing' effect.

Thanks, Hoping to see how the background plants grow out , to give it the depth.
Ya eagerly waiting to see how it looks like also
Ya better go get some if you want. haha
Hi Jason, ya i will use a external canister outlet at the right side, to create the flowing effect with the Cyperus helferi

i suggest placing the lily pipes behind![]()
for phototaking purposes, or normal use ?
my lightset is behind as the plants are mainly at background.
so like not much choice to put infront.![]()
Chee Yong
normal use. and find a way to clean it?![]()
One good way to clean glass of algae is to soak it in bleach water for a few minutes then rinse it. It's glass so shouldn't be a problem. Also I do agree with the others that your diffuser and lily pipe shoule be at the back and out of sight.![]()

Fish enthusiast is a nice euphemism for manic geekery.
haha, ya. abit lazy cleaning it......
maybe will do it soon. when i clean my filter.![]()
Chee Yong
i think he meant soaking using normal bleach. maybe 50%water and 50%bleach mixture.
after cleaning is done, you need to wash it throughly with water and dechlorine solution
Chee Yong
but those pipes are very hard to clean(washing away the bleach)(for those who use lily pipes know what i am talking about.. i suggest buying the ada solution for cleaning..
i think using ADA lily pipe cleaner will be good.
i clean by using a diy pull through wire.![]()
Chee Yong
its not difficult la
nothing against ada but you don't necessarily have to buy their superge solution just to clean a few glass pieces
next thing you'll be needing their clean bottle to soak the pieces in
just soak in strong bleach solution for awhile
after that pull through with pipe cleaner (ada pipe cleaner useful in this case as its flexible!) and everything will come off
rinse throughly then soak again in double/triple strength anti-chlorine solution (anti-chlorine is relatively cheap compared to all the other myriad of stuffs we buy anyway)
where to buy ahd ada pipe cleaner? and how much?
I saw it at Biotope, price wise not too sure.
