    Beautiful male there.

I don't think there are trade names of this fish going by A. hongsloi I. Its just A. hongsloi for the non A. hongsloi II strain.
    A. hongsloi II is a trade name given to differentiate a specimen with a red face to one that is not.

Ah...interesting facts. So the difference is just in the red markings on the face?

I think yours can be considered a rotstrich too because of the lack of reds in the face. Rotstrich are the so called "normal" hongsloi before all the red aquarium strains starts appearing

So wild hongsloi can also be considered a rotstrich?

    That is not correct.

Koslowski divided the hongsloi complex into 6 different groups. Rotstrich/Red-streak (A110) is one of them.

Well, i dont really think mine is the Rotstrich varient. Even if it is, it will be the more domestic version of it. But, i dont agree the Rotstrich varient being refered as the "normal" hongsloi. Infact the Rostrich are the more colorful forms of hongsloi group.

As alot of hongsloi are domestically bred now, even the Rotstrich varient are getting more colorful than usual. (Though in the wild they are considered the more highly colored ones) So anyone out there have any pictures of the more "traditional" wild caught Rotstrich to share?

I think normal is the wrong word i used, i should have used "wild strain" instead.

Of the 6 forms described by Koslowski, only the "Rotstrich" have a golden yellow head, red in the dorsal, above the anal fin and stretches over the entire caudal peduncle. Most of the A. hongsloi we get nowadays are domesticated variants, hence you are right. Yours should be the domesticated form of "Rotstrich" and not the Hongsloi form II. Mine is also the domesticated strain of the "Rotstrich".
