i have a tank cover in because of the marbled hatchetfish. they don't just jump, they literally fly (that's why they're hatchet shaped...lots of muscles to flap their pectoral fins and fly). i also had the bad experience where my prized apisto decided to jump after 8 months of not even going near the surface, so a tank cover is prudent.

thanks i think i might be overloading the tank. i like seeing lots of fishes in mine, but i do know most of the forumers here subscribe to the "less is more" theory, so your tank is fine...i'm doing the wrong thing i guess haha. my scape can still improve alot, i'm still learning as i go along.

thanks this guy is indeed very beautiful! i got it from biotope. been eyeing it for months since it was an inch small, but no spare tanks for it. since i was gonna scape a 1ft cube, i decided to get it as the centrepiece fish

Bro, i think 1ft too small can't put too much things etc fish and plants. Why don't you get a little bit bigger tank like 2ft?

i don't suscribe to the "less is more" theory, and i don't think the bioload is too high to be frank...in fact my personal opinion is that it's too low that's why i sticked it the way i did.

i do have a 2ft tank, that one houses a pair of Apistogramma elizabethae "Super Red", but it's not so much a scaped tank. i don't have space for another 2ft and hence my choice for a 1ft cube instead

Yi Xiang, you know I've problems keeping my Apistogrammas alive, that is why the less-is-more way is safer for me. Your apistos on the other hand seem to breed like rabbits.
And that female is looking good.
