Yes... those are algae growing on wood... only started appearing this week... I suspect one of the belows (if not both):

    1) Addition of ADA Shade (1 pump every other day)

    2) The use of treated tap water instead of DI water. I have been using treated tap water for top up (treated with Dennerle Bio-grun) after my Apisto Elizabethae death.

Will monitor for another week or so before taking any action.

Depends in what way its "treated". Personally i just use plaint tap water always for water change. Suposedly i aught not, but it never does any harm for me.

What's wrong with this pair??? The eggs have yet to hatch and they are already having fun?

Warning: Erotic scenes are to be expected.

    Aww how cute is that.

Maybe there just a young frisky couple Maybe still inexperienced and unaware they still have a role with the existing eggs? I don't know. Unless existing eggs are perhaps not fertile? Who knows...

Doesn't look like it... but who knows... maybe the female try to distract the male from the eggs by 'keeping him occupied'

The twisting of bodies "dance" is very similar to mating Bettas. Don't you think?

By the way, the male is well fed

Very nice setup. I liked how you've scaped the bottom half of the tank.

This tank celebrates its 2 month anniversary this week... this is my longest running tank without rescaping so far

Here's the tank looks like now... pretty similar to the original scaping. Oh yeah, I did upgrade the filtration from Eheim Liberty to Eheim 2211 last month. Tank is much healthier looking after the upgrading.

Plants are growing decently alright... not expecting much since it's a low tech tank (without much light, not much fertz and no CO2).

On a closer look... the tank is a quite messy actually Thinking of tidying things up and introduce more plants.

Yes it looks marvellous. Maybe throw in some small rocks with moss for the empty space.
