180cm Tank with ADA woods

Finally my 180cm tank is ready and the ADA woods, and this is my initial layout, please do give some advise.

I plan for an island like setup, decided the plant already, just donno whether should put in some rock as well. Any suggestion for both wood and rock setup?

yes put some rock it would be empty otherwise, should have a mix between wood and rock. I think you should still have some space for more wood

Your setup is fantastic, I was thinking to put in some white sand in the center as well. But heard from others that white sand is extremly hard to maintant, any idea on this?

I'm curently using those fine sand not that white, more like brownish. The issue with maintainance would be when algae grow on it surface, Algae will start photosinthesis and generate bubble. Since the fine sand is very light, it is start to float.

Nice woods... is it one piece or a number of pieces that you tied together...

I got these in Permas Jaya, near JB malaysia. They have left few only, and these two woods that I got are left due to size that only good for 4 ft and above tank. So I got it, quite lucky.

There is only two pieces, and even I put it in my 180cm tank, there is still some part of it will surface above the tank.

Alot of potential space to explore. You can draft it out what you want before you do. At least you will save alot of energy and backache.
