Not SAE. It's Gyrinocheilus aymonieri (Chinese algae eater).

Hi Quixotic, thanks for the confirmation...was trying to catch the SAE in the C328... don't know why caught this fish instead...

Very active fish but a little shy sometime.

    Hi Koolman... thanks too

bro, CAEs can be quite aggressive. they caused my 2 peppered cories to be overly stressed out because it is very territorial by nature.

it chases every single fish that swims into the lower areas of the tank.. they are also faster than most fish. they're like the superhero 'Flash' of fish. i had a hard time getting it out from my main tank..... almost too fast for human hands.......

oh and they poo alot. its in my QT tank now because its too aggressive and in one day it shat about 1.5 50 cent coins worth of poo!

It's a very effective algae eater, unfortunately it is also aggressive to other tankmates especially larger or slower fish whom it attacks to eat their slime. I would keep it with small fish like tetras and rasboras.

Thanks guys... can't agree more on the "speed" part... it's constantly dashing around the tank and elusive at time too

The tankmates are 9 cardinals and 1 bubblebee snail... so far it's quite discipline (keeping fingers X).

Anyone can enligthen me the max size of this fellow...

    What!! 28cm??
That's huge... only 2cm short of my nano...
But I don't think it can achieve even half of that length in my nano... as space is a premium and I didn't feed anything to it

You may find you have to upgrade tank size, or give it a new tank in a few years when its grown up then. Stunting its growth by keeping it in there is not advisable!
