Just some banal talk.
Having keep fishes make me realised the important of filters ..... to keep the water circulating.
You see these circulation in nature as well. River waters flow because of gravity. Ocean waters circulated because of the Earth's rotation & the presence of the moon ...... that makes the moon a sort of like the ocean's filter.
That's an interesting thought.
But I feel that ocean circulation is not so much due to the moon. Because, if we extend the thought further, we can also say that the sun is also the ocean's filter due to the heating and cooling of the oceans causing the various water temperatures which subsequently cause the flow of the waters.
The movement of the oceans current and wind itself is more due to the unequal heating by the sun, or so geography tells us.
Moon causes the high tides and low tides. Sort of like spoon spinning in a teacup.
Doesn't that make the moon more of a water pump than a filter. Since all the stuff in the ocean like fish poo doesn't get sucked by the moon, just swirled around to other parts of the world.
