    thanks

i'm using the same pump as you.. i use a 'rain pipe' that's used for those stackable OHFs and white tape it to the pipe on the end that the water flows into the OHF. helps to distribute the water a bit and allows the water to hit onto my wool, cushioning the impact of the water gushing out.

i then used a small piece of rock to block the outlet hole which is connected to another elbow to further soften the impact of the water that's once again, gushing out from the outlet hole and into the tank.

if it sounds like what you're looking for, i can help by providing you with a picture for a better idea.

    cheers.

    a picture will be great

after installing rainbar, the inflow rate is too fast for the outflow to handle
tried putting a stopper but is super duper noisy

you mean your water is overflowing without putting anything at the outlet to slow down the rate of displacement? what media are you using? is your media stopping the water from flowing out?

my top layer is the ohf wool, bottom are ceramic rings... did you also remove the meshed tray at the bottom to fit in more media?

ya for BB to grow because of its high surface area. lava rocks will work too. hmm.

i suspect your wool might be blocking the area that lets the water seep thru. there's a small hole on the plastic divider that's near the outlet hole.. maybe your wool is blocking it.

is the tray at the bottom still there or you removed it? its kind of elevated so basically water will be not be still at the bottom of the ohf.
