I think if they are doing business in making aquarium stands, it must at least be levelled. This is the least standard to be expected. In particular, the purpose of a stand is to support a full water tank and it will be dangerous in the long run with unbalanced distribution of load.

They must also provide rust proof compound coat. I have my aquarium stand for 3 years and no sign of rush is spotted and my supplier didn't warn me that it would rust in no time

Rust is no joke matter. A long duration of rust will slowly but surely erode the metal.

    Jervis,
    Thanks bro.

    Blue/Maurice,
yong hua did mentioned to me that the price tag doesnt include rust proofing. But i guess when i first received the iron stand, i was abit disappointed. I wouldnt say its in bad shape but grease with rust coupled with unlevelness really put me off. But what to do, have to accept as Im on low budget.

Leveling is the most basic thing. You should get a replacement instead!

I have managed to cut a 1mm clear acrylic to be placed on furthest right hand leg to solve its leveling problem. It proved to be better than the 2mm black acrylic yonghua gave me.

If your neighbourhood got those shops selling hardware and whatever nonsense, go and get those black rubber padding for metal stand. Very cheap and you can then put the acrylic inside the padding and level it.

    Hi again mobile,

I have decided to use my existing HOF for this setup instead of canister as initially planned with resun cy200/eden 501.

I have seen those but didnt get them the last time i was at selfix. They are usually more than 1mm thick. perhaps i should use those that allow me to slide the stand easily.

I will shoot some close up when i have the time.

So you have miss out this part!

ya, thanks blue33, after retracing and reveiwing your valuable posts. I figured i have missed this step of sealing the entire tank up.

Initially, I was afraid this method would sealed off any co2. But since you have successfully got this right with similar variables, i gave it a shot and ya, was surprised it has worked pretty well.

    My sincere thanks.

The sealing is pretty important when getting high moisture. I notice alot of them miss out this part but there could be times wrong approach or using wrong method. Glad to hear something is working right for you.

CO2 is also part of the cycle of the plants released and due to your sealing it use back again, and the rich nutrients supplying to it.

front left shot with HC making very good progress. Hole left previously due to dead HC being almost filled up

Things to note, dont fill up too much water, soil moist is good enough as condensation will flow back again unless you notice dry. It will grow/creep faster this way.

After painstaking painted the above ironstand, i took the remaining 2 hard woods and tried fitting them to the iron.

What a disaster when the 2nd tier hard wood refused to fit and scratched off the rust resistance paint and the anti-rust proof primer. I was so furious, i called the cabinet maker and given him a piece of my mind.

Not only were the stand initially not leveled. Even the wood refused to fit and had to be forced hard to fit. The only excuse given by him that i had "over painted" resulting in a non-fit. I almost took my phone and smashed it! If i hadnt taken 2 weeks to get them rust proofed, I would have without question ask him to take it back.

No longer will i ask him for help or would i recommend him to anyone again. Ever !
