Hi,
Thinning can be due to temperature as some moss need lower temperature to grow well. As for color wise, it can be due to CO2 level too low.
Hi all,
need help.
My tank was started in early Jan 08. So far doing fine and pearling very well. for a period of time due to fertiliser overdose I had algae problem but this was eliminated when I went 2 mths of 30% weekly water change and addition of only Seachem Potassium. Now pearling can be seen easily.
Problem is my moss. Previously it was growing very well, green and lush. recently I noticed that the moss seems to be thinning and slightly darker in color. in some strands it appears brown. any idea?

Hi,

are you adding in any co2 injection ?
And also pearling doesnt mean that your plants are healthy. So dont be mistaken.
hi...yes the usual CO2 of 2Bps.
could it be the unusally hot weather that has caused the moss to suffer in looks?
the weather is unusually hot and my tank has no chiller or fan for it.
Should be the temperature as it has been high these few weeks. Some moss just cannot take it.
what about christmas moss?
and how do you save mosses from dying?
mine too...high temp![]()
DIY ICE Bottle, change every 2 hrs. And yes, my freeze section is filled with a lot of bottles.
May I suggest you get a fan to cool your tank. Your moss may not be dead and should thrive back once your tank is cooler. What moss are you keeping?
even with a fan and temps brought down to 26 degree, they seem to be browning too. I usually just trim these leaves away.
Its confirmed due to the recent high temperatures. I have the same problem too bro. Its either you get yourself a chiller, or try out on other kinds of moss. I changed mine to java and flame moss, both of them are doing very well.
