I am using a Eheim 2213 for a 1ft cube. Very effective and efficient.
Hi all, had just gotten 2 tanks from a helpful bro in here, however would like to ask for recommendations of filters to effectively be used for the 2 tanks...
1) 1-feet cube (intend to maintain simple moss floor with some nana & hairgrass, fauna of some Neon tetras (from my current overload tank) & Ramshorn snails & hopefully Cherriy shrimps...)
2) 1-feet X 1-feet X 16 inches tank (intend to keep for planted tank with more demanding plants, Cherriy Shimps & maybe starting with Apistos...)
Currently have a 7 Stars SF-601 filter, this can be more suitable for which of the above tank? Then for the other tank withour filter, any recommendation?
Am actually going to buy from a bro in here a Hang-on filter [Dolphin H-200] but am afraid that it cannot be able to be used on any of the 2 tanks...
Thanks in advance for all suggestions & advises.![]()
I am using a Eheim 2213 for a 1ft cube. Very effective and efficient.
1 FT tank only needs around 200l/h filter.
As a rule of thumb.
Flowrate 3 times the capacity only for shrimp tank. For fish tank it must be 6-10 times.
Hi magic4lifez, thanks but Eheim 2213 is out of the budget for me already... Envy you...
Thanks torque6 once again for your advise... So looks like the Dolphin H-200 [stated on the box: 250L/Hr] that I'd bought from a fellow bro here should be more than enough in use in my 1-feet cube then...
But my concern now is that its inlet tube may not be long enough to reach the base of the tank or at least near the substrate... Will it lead to poor filtration of the fishes & shrimps poo???If not, how can I extend its reach downward (taken a look at the filter, its inlet pipe are those 'extendable' & attached ones...)

Im not sure about the length of tubing for hof, im using the gex S type, on a 23cm height tank, with about 8cm in substract.
Eden filters are good for small planted. I think I saw them in 328 Cl. ave. 2.

Yup, Eden 501 is kindda popular among 1ft cube. Personally I was quite kaisu and used a Tetra Ex 60... anyway it was my spare filter. You can also use OHF for the moss & nana. Much cheaper than canister.
