Aynone know the cause or remedy?

My Opaline Gouramis has what appears to be a wound on top of its head. The scales on its head appear to be sticking out. Only one or two of them. I can't quite see if its an open wound, infestation or what. Shall try and get a picture in the next 24 hours.

This problem has been coming and going for the last month or two. All other fish are fine, my female opaline gourami is happy and healthy, its just the male goes through this stage every now and again.

I've always kept on top of frequent water changes, 25% weekly due to quite large bioload. Never had any other illnesses except whitespot on my clown loach 2 1/2 years ago.

If anyone knows of anything, or what it sounds like will be much appreciated, as i said will try and get a visual for you all to see as i know this may help you all identify it.

Nobody know able to help at all?

Since putting him in isolation for being beligerent to the female its actually clearing up a little bit, given a few more days i think he'll be fine.

Would be nice to know what it is though? And how i can maybe help prevent it in the future?

He's been isolated now for 6 days. Will release him out of his container to join his mate on monday (10th day). I initially suspected it to be a scratch, serves him right for bullying his female into the corner and chasing her everywhere.

Isolating him in this way served two purposes;

1) To let it heal without him continuely catching it, making it worse.
2) To let the female claim the tank as hers (rearanged the whole tank) and hopefully he will let her out of her tiny corner of the tank.
