!!!!
i would suggest water change now....and im not kidding.
baking soda powder isnt = baking powder.
if you need it urgently and is in tampines area, you can PM me, i can give you a small amount if ntuc out of stock.
I just went supermarket and try to get a baking soda but they only have baking powder and so I bought it.
Water turn slight cloudy after dosing baking powder.I read the content and it wasn't all sodium carbonate. It also contain starch, calicum carbonate and something else.
Any problem using that?

You can easily get Sodium Bicarbonate at Poon Huat bakery supplies stores around Singapore.
Many of my HC melt and I quickly did a water change.
If you are not sure, dont buy on impulse, ask first buy later![]()
Some very stronger pointers given out by Peter a few days back, so sharing with you. The cycling process doesnt apply to planted tanks. if you want to have live stock, just make sure that your bioload doesnt exceeds your plants uptake of NH4. You should not experience any issues such as New tank syndrome. Do note however, gex and ada to some extent "leech" out a high amount of ammonia in the beginning, so take this into consideration before stocking.
just make sure you tank is densely planted to be safe![]()
Not much to advise except for regular water changes. Perhaps twice a week, 20% each time and let your filter work on it.
I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks for the advise.![]()
Two incident happen yesterday, my cannister was down and wealther was cold due to heavy rain.
My three computer fan manage to cool the water to 26.5 degree which was normally 28 degree.
To my surprise, my HC was pearling which is melting the past few days.
I use a submerge filter to stand in this moring.Water was 27 degree. The HC stop pearling.
What have cause the HC to pearl? Is it water at 26.5 degree or high CO2 due to cannister down?
HC thrives in cool temperatures high lighting and good NPK doses... It is interesting to know they pearl at low temperatures. from what i know 28 will not kill HC but cool waters certainly does make the plant "happy"
what are your tank parameters like?
from what i observed, pearling is not that important a thing. plants do give out the O2 in photosynthesis. Most get dissolved and we dont see it. If it grows healthily don't worry about it.
just my 2cents worth![]()
trace elements consist of many stuff like mg and lotsa other stuff cannot recall will post when i see it again. iron is also one of it.
as for how long it last am not sure. everything has a shelf life.... have not use the doc's stuff so not sure how it works... anyone here knows?
I on the light for 12hour per day and one bubble per second. During the first day set up, PH was 6.4 but now it was 7.2. I have check, no metal, coral chip or crystal inside, very unusual.
Every single plant is melting.I heard there is a time frame for the plant to get use to the new tank but the melting rate to far too fast.
Perhap,I should stop dosing fertilizer for the time being. If the plant gets better, than the problem is on the fertilizer.
Please kindly advise on this.
