thanks robert!
i presume its white vinegar right?
year forgot to mention
i just tried
it works to a certain extent but i was hoping for something stronger
some very stubborn ones still refuse to come off
any other chemicals to recommend?
or should i leave the vinegar on overnight?
I noticed that my tangan tank which i use alot of sodium bicarbonate which i bought from NA causes very serious mineral stains. I've used AquaMedic brand of KH-up before and they don't cause such bad staining. Maybe it's due to the impurities.

H2O2 does it work? it is good for organic mater but mineral stains?
Its basically acid, but safe as it'll breaks down into H2O+O2. So, no worries if it gets into the water. For a 100l tank I used up to 30ml at 1 application. Well, they will for sure get into the water unless you are using on an empty tank.

Did some searching on the web, H2O2 is weak acid, 3% H2O2 pH probably around 6.5 on the other hand white vinegar contain 5% acetic acid and have pH of about 2.4.
Never measure it, so I might be wrong

Maybe you can try the melamine sponges from Daiso. Works well for me.
